Hey everyone,

When most people think about "fixing their finances," they picture a massive, soul-crushing spreadsheet and four hours of math on a Saturday. Which if you are like me, that is not a good or fun time at all.

Honestly? That’s why most of us never start. We think we will do it later or when you get something else done first. But the time never comes because we are always busy with something else, and have no time left in the day

But I’ve realized that being good with money isn’t about being a math genius; it’s just about paying attention. Most of us have what I like to call "Ghost Expenses" which are those tiny, quiet charges that show up on your statement every month, providing zero value while haunting your bank account.

I had a few I did not even realize I had, that been charging anywhere from $10 to $35 a month and a couple of annual charges to in the $120+ range. Not small change in my opinion, that was doing little, if any, good, in fact, I got no use out of some of these subscription services, so it was just wasted money.

Then I came up with an idea where you just spend 60 seconds. It helped me slowly riddle down all the subscriptions I had that proide no value and was just wasted money. You can do it at any time, and anywhere

Here is a 60-second challenge for you today:

Open your banking app right now. Don’t go back months—just look at the last 7 days.

Scan the list and look for just one thing that didn’t actually make your life better this week. It might be anything from a "premium" delivery fee for a lukewarm pizza or a subscription to a workout app you haven't opened since January. And don’t forget about the "convenience fee" for something that wasn't actually convenient.

The goal isn't to be perfect. It’s just to find one leak and plug it. If you find a $10/month subscription you don't use and cancel it, you just gave yourself a $120-a-year raise in under a minute.

Find one ghost today and delete it. Your future self will thank you.
